Steam-Salt Water-Air-Fuels-Refrigerants-Acid (sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric, chromic), Alkalies (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide), Solvents (kerosene, gasoline, carbon tet, cleaning fluids), Gases (hydrogen, ammonia, chlorine, propane, butane, nitrogen). -400 deg F (-240 deg C) to 500 deg F (260 deg C). Do not use on liquid or gaseous oxygen.
Double construction of Instalon is 100% virgin PTFE. Its core is PTFE in plastic resin form that squeezes in all directions to fill all voids. Its spiraled covering is a PTFE tape molecularly oriented to resist extrusion. This double construction enables Instalon to conform to uneven flange surfaces. It is not affected by chemicals (except molten alkali metals)...never hardens...never adheres...completely inert.
Instalon packs valves! Wrap several turns around the stem to fill the stuffing box. Tighten down the follower nut. The "plastic" PTFFE squeezes to fill all voids making a tight seal. All purpose Instalon reduces the need for large inventories of valve stem packings.
Gland pressure compresses the loosely wound Instalon into a custom-molded packing ring completely filling the stuffing box area.
A single strand of Instalon forms a gasket that can be parted cleanly years later! Tightening the flange bolts squeezes the Instalon into a continuous gasket. All-purpose Instalon eliminates cutting or stocking gaskets for various size flanges of pipes, tanks, vessels, ducts, etc.

Instant Packing: Just wrap stem and tighten down gland. All sizes of Instalon fit any size valve stem. Howeever, 7/32" Instalon is easier to use where packing space measures 1 1/4" or larger.
Instant Gaskets: Just circle the sealing face and tighten the flange bolts. Instalon is squeezed into a custom-molded gasket fitting any size flange.
